GENERAL INFORMATION
This is the public portal to the new records management system. We are currently in the onboarding phase of this new improved method of meeting the training and certification needs of Louisiana’s Firefighters.
If you are a firefighter associated with the Louisiana fire service or a member of an industrial fire brigade at a Louisiana base plant or facility, please follow step 1 of the portal account registration below.
If you are not associated with a Louisiana base fire service agency or an agency in a neighboring state with mutual aid with a Louisiana agency, you can inquire about registration by accessing the UNAFILLIATED TRAINING REQUEST and our registration staff will contact you. DO NOT USE THIS FORM IF YOU HAVE AN ACADIS ACCOUNT AND ARE AFFILIATED WITH A LOUISIANA DEPARTMENT.
There will be continual updates to the system over the next few months. A projected timeline is at the bottom of this page.
PORTAL ACCOUNT REGISTRATION PROCESS
If you are a Louisiana Firefighter or utilize Louisiana Fire & Emergency Training Academy for training, you must create an account in Acadis.
Before you begin the process of creating your Acadis account, take a moment to retreive your FEMA SID.
To obtain a copy of this document from FEMA, go to https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid/account/find and enter the email address you signed up for the FEMA SID under. You may have to try multiple emails to recover this information.
DO NOT create a new FEMA SID account if you cannot remember the email you originally signed up with. If you are unable to recover your FEMA SID from FEMA, you will need to contact them. Creating a duplicate account in their system will delay registration with us.
If you do not have a FEMA SID number, utilized the directions above to verify first then go to https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid/register to register and obtain a FEMA SID number.
Step 1 - Fill out and submit the Portal Account Request form. - We suggest you use an email that you can readily access and receive timely notifications on. Additionally you should be able to access your email if you change employers. Once your account has been created you will receive notification to your email. Do not submit more than one request. Your account should be created within two business days.
Please be patient, we are working diligently to create the accounts within 7 to 10 business days. Once your account is created the system will send you and email to log in and complete the following steps.
Getting everyone into the system is our first priority. This will take some time to combine all records associated with each individual. Please review your information in the system, while we will make every effort to update your records, this process will be delayed until we get the majority of accounts set up. Our goal is to have all records merged and associated by the beginning of March 2024. Any unclaimed record by this date will be archived. Please be patient.
Step 2 - Complete FEMA SID Verification - Log into this portal and upload a pdf copy of the FEMA SID email.
The webform to upload the email is located in the "Find & complete a webform" section under the "Academy Resources" tab inside your portal.
Step 3 - Secondary Employment Reporting - Complete this form for additional fire service related employment regardless of pay status. You may associate with mutliple agencies.
MISSING RECORDS
We will address missing records in March unless there is an urgent need. We have not done the final uploads into the system but plan to over the next two weeks. Until then we know there are a number of missing records. In the last half of February everyone should review their individual records in Acadis. If there are missing records utilize the “Record Review Request ” webform located under Academy Resources to forward the information we will need to track down the records. There is an upload inside that webform to submit copies of records you asking us to look into. Each individual will need to do this for their own record for the information to attach properly.
TRAINING COORDINATORS
Training Coordinators - If you are a Chief or Training Officer with an agency who currently registers students for classes or candidates for certification examination, you will need to complete this step. In the "Find & Complete a Webform" section, complete the "Request for Training Coordinator Permissions" webform. Once your account has been upgraded you will have access to all information and personnel records associated with your agency. Please allow 7-10 business days for processing. Additional Training will be delivered to familiarize you with your role and the functions of the Acadis system.
ALL Certification Testing Requests must be made by Training Coordinators registered in this system. Training registration will follow at a later date.
Training Coordinator Orientation will be held via zoom every Wednesday at 1800 Hrs. All Training Coordinators should attend at least one session. You can find the registration link for each session in the "Available Training" section after you log into your portal. As the topics change all Training Coordinators will be notified by email.
Changes to classes and registration
- All registration for classes beginning 1/3/2024 will be placed by the "Training Coordinator" at your agency (Chief or Training Officer).
- Course fees for FETA classes will no longer include the book. Information on the required book/ebook will be included in the course description.
- Course fees will include an initial certification exam as part of the tuition.
