This class is being conducted by the local agency listed in the signup details section below, please refer any questions to that agency. The Louisiana Fire and Emergency Training Academy staff is not teaching this Course.  

The certification fees will be billed upon enrollment into this class.  

Only students who successfully complete this program will be eligible for certification testing.  

DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING
5 Day-Fire Officer I Course (NFPA 1021-2020e)  Closed External Class not taught by LAFETA  This is for exam tracking purposes.

Prerequisite(s): Firefighter II, Fire Instructor I

Fire Officer I is the first line of supervision in the fire department organization, a person certified to this level will be able to perform routine administrative functions, complete reports, follow department/agency administrative polices, apply human resource skills in completing assignments, supervise company level personal during in-service training, complete tasks, interact with the community by assisting with complaints, public education opportunities and other public inquires, complete company level pre-incident planning and life safety business inspections, manage an incident, complete initial accident investigations and conduct a post-incident analysis (PIA).

Must hold a Fire Service Instructor I certification.
