DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING

5 Day-Fire Officer II Course (NFPA 1021-2020e)  

Prerequisite(s): Fire Officer I

Fire Officer II is the fire department's front-line officer and line supervisor. A person certified to this level will be able to perform routine administrative functions, complete employee evaluations and work plans, follow department/agency administrative policies, assist in the budget process, interact with the media by assisting with press releases, manage multi-unit responses to an incident, complete initial investigation of a fire scene and determine the cause or request an investigator, review initial accident reports and make recommendations to change policy or procedures and conduct a post-incident analysis (PIA).
