Only students who successfully complete this program will be eligible for certification testing.

DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING
The Rope Rescue Technician course is designed to teach responders to operate at the technician level in high or low-angle environments. Students will learn how to build complex rope systems to effectively provide patients access to assessment, treatment, packaging, and extraction. Students will learn how to construct and operate tensioned rope systems, horizontal rope systems, personal belay systems, artificial high directionals, perform pickoffs, and learn personal mobility skills in the high-angle environment. Students will learn about identifying hazards and resource needs, planning, and managing support from awareness and operations-level personnel. Students shall provide all necessary PPE and are allowed to provide personal or issued rescue equipment to be used after inspection by FETA staff.

Must hold a Rope Rescue Awareness certification
