Fire Officer I Course (NFPA 1021-2020e)  

Prerequisite(s): Firefighter II, Fire Instructor I

Fire Officer I is the first line of supervision in the fire department organization; a person certified to this level will be able to perform routine administrative functions, complete reports, follow department/agency administrative policies, apply human resource skills in completing assignments, supervise company level personal during in-service training, complete tasks, interact with the community by assisting with complaints, public education opportunities and other public inquires, complete company level pre-incident planning and life safety business inspections, manage an incident, complete initial accident investigations and conduct a post-incident analysis (PIA). Certification testing is included in the course tuition and fees.
