Full Description
This is a virtual training through Micro soft Teams. This course will provide the fundamental requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Architectural Barriers Act dated July 23, 2004, commonly referred to as the ADA-ABA, 2010 standard. A comparison between the previous American with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG) and the currently enforced ADA-ABA. Attendees will help you learn which structures are required to comply with the ADA-ABA, how to determine the minimum number of elements required to be accessible, and specific dimensional requirements for accessible elements such as parking, restrooms, means of egress, service counters, etc. The Fair Housing Act, which is enforced for accessibility of residential dwelling units (apartments), will also be discussed. This course will also fulfill the training requirements set forth by the Office of State Fire Marshal for Louisiana Fire Prevention Bureau's required ADA training to obtain Inspector 2 level certification.
