DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING
Students who successfully complete this program will be eligible for certification testing.

The position of incident safety officer is identified within the incident management system used within the emergency response community. This position requires an understanding of emergency operations, including—but not limited to—fire suppression, emergency medical operations, technical operations, hazardous materials operations, and other emergencies that an agency could be called to. The candidate must also understand building construction, fire behavior, fire ground operations, firefighter safety, risk management, and developing IAPs.

Must hold a Fire Officer I certification.
