24 Hour Rope Rescue-Technician Level (IFSAC)
Full Description
The Rope Rescue Technician course is designed to teach responders to operate at the technician level in high or low-angle environments. Students will learn how to build complex rope systems to effectively provide access to patients for assessment, treatment, packaging, and extraction. Students will learn how to construct and operate tensioned rope systems, horizontal rope systems, personal belay systems, artificial high directionals, perform pickoffs, and learn personal mobility skills in the high-angle environment. Students will learn about identifying hazards and resource needs, planning, and managing support from awareness and operations-level personnel. Students shall provide all necessary PPE and are allowed to provide personal or issued rescue equipment to be used after inspection by FETA staff. Certification testing is included in the course tuition and fees.

Resources Required
Must have Rope Operations Level , See prerequisites when registering.
Students must bring NFPA approved rescue helmet, rescue harness, rescue gloves, notebook and writing materials.  Students must also provide their own books.  The book required for this course is Jones and Bartlett Rope Rescue Principles and Practices 5th Edition, ISBN: 978-1-284-19510-1.  If students have any questions, please contact Thomas Townsend, Rescue Manager.
Reporting Instructions
Students must report to Building two (2) Classroom four (4) at 0800.
